Amnesty International is circululating a petition calling for the return of the 238 men shipped to the Cecot prison in El Salvador--one of the world's most notorious--without any sort of due process. Here is a link to their press release and a link to their petition to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem:

ACT NOW: KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA AND OTHERS ILLEGALLY EXPELLED BY THE TRUMP ADMIN. MUST BE RETURNED » Kilmar Abrego Garcia was arrested in Maryland in front of his 5-year-old son and suddenly expelled to a prison in El Salvador notorious for its inhumane conditions.He is among more than 255 people who have been illegally expelled from the U.S to El Salvador.

1The Trump administration is disappearing people beyond the reach of U.S. law and brazenly violating due process for Kilmar Abrego Garcia and others like make-up artist Andry José Hernández Romero.Any of us could be Kilmar or Andry. 

If Trump denies them the right to due process, he can deny it to any of us — and we must speak out NOW.Join the public outcry and take action today to call for their immediate return to the U.S.

The Trump administration admits that Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s expulsion was an “administrative error,” yet they are being defiant about the Supreme Court order to facilitate his return to the U.S.This is an egregious disregard of human rights and the rule of law, with a particularly vicious response: We must call for Kilmar Abrego Garcia and others’ return and STOP this authoritarian practice of showing no regard for the rule of law.This mass expulsion of people — despite court orders barring their removal — is cruel, shameless, and a blatant violation of human rights… and it is part and parcel of the Trump administration’s embrace of authoritarian practices.

2 In an oval office meeting with the president of El Salvador, President Trump insinuated he wanted to do this to U.S. citizens, saying “home-growns are next.”The Trump administration seems to think they can ignore laws and court rulings they do not like — it’s up to us to hold them accountable.Our grassroots, people-powered movement is a crucially-needed force against efforts to overwhelm and silence us.
